Samuel R. Lewis & Associates, Inc., Consulting Engineers at 777 Busse Road in Park Ridge, Illinois USA
Samuel R. Lewis & Associates, Inc. Consulting Electrical, Mechanical, and Plumbing Engineers formerly on Wells Street, Chicago, now relocated to 777 Busse Road in Park Ridge, Illinois and Wisconsin, USA
During May 1977, I graduated from Madonna High School, with the National Honor Society, ten percent upper percentile in the Class of 1977, for the Catholic High School for Women formerly located at the corner of Belmont Avenue and Karlov Street, on the Northwest side of Chicago, Illinois. Catholic Sister Rosemarie was my career counselor and referred me for employment at Samuel R. Lewis & Associates, Inc., Consulting Electrical, Mechanical, and Plumbing Engineers on the 9th floor of a brownstone building directly across the Merchandise Mart on Wells Street, by the Chicago River Bridge near Wacker Drive, downtown Chicago, Illinois, USA. I was interviewed by the President of the company, Joseph Pelletier, who was looking for a draughtsman to assist him hand-drawing architectural floor plans for electrical, mechanical, and plumbing construction and specifications. I was hired to work for the Summer of 1977, after graduation from Madonna High School, upon recommendation from the Art Teacher Sister Sponsa and Sister Rosemarie, the career counselor. I started working for Engineer Jack Pelletier as a Draughstman, earning the lowest salary in the office, at the rate of $5.25 an hour, without any health care benefits, pension benefits, or educational benefits either. In retrospect, I worked at Samuel R. Lewis during five (5) years, summers to save for personal expenses, during my college years at Northeastern Illinois University—from 1977 through 1982.
